The Labor Day Weekend Show

Put your hushpuppies on. On Saturday September 3rd, Ronnie and Linda Mason will be hosting a party for us at thier home in exotic Buhl, Al. The party itself will start around 7:00 p.m. and will be in the backyard around the pool. If you have never seen the backyard at the Mason's, it is quite a sight. Their is a beautiful pool surrounded by every plant and flower you can think of. Mr. Mason has quite the green thumb.

Everyone is welcome to come early in the afternoon to swim and watch college football. By the way, Alabama's first game is that night which has been a concern to many. Not to worry....we will have the game on pay-per-view on the big screen TV.

If you have not yet received an invitation to this occasion, it is absolutely my fault. I have been slacking when it comes to collecting all of my addresses. Obviously, everyone is invited. Please let us know if you can attend by calling Linda Mason at 205-333-8732 or email Lynn at lmason@jmf.com. Information on where we are registered can be found below. There will be food, beverages, football, dancing, and live entertainment by The Oz and Jaynes Acoustic Band. The pictures above are of me and Jaynes playing at the former Reef restaurant in Tuscaloosa (we miss it Ron!)

Wedding Attire

Hello everyone. Thank you all very much for taking the time to read our love blog. So far, it has been a lot of fun updating it (and it has made the wife to be very happy). I have had quite a few people email and call to ask what the attire was for the wedding. The ceremony itself will not be directly on the sand, but on a bluff overlooking the gulf. In a word, CASUAL. Lynn will of course be in a wedding dress, and I, of course, will be naked. We just want everyone to be comfortable and laid back. Khakis, hawaiian shirts, sun dresses, button downs, polo shirts, etc. No suits required.

Adagio At Night

Adagio at night.

The huge pool where the reception will be held.

Hotels Nearby

If you are planning on attending the wedding, but will not be able to stay at Adagio, there is a new section on the left hand side with links to nearby hotels. The ones in Destin will be a little more expensive, of course, since they are closer to the beach. The Best Western is in a place called De Funiak Springs which is about 40 minutes inland up Hwy 331. My father recently made a charitable contribution to the municipality of De Funiak Springs (translation: he got caught in a speed trap and paid a hefty fine for a speeding violation.) He also sent a love letter to the court clerk in De Funiak in which he explained how much he appreciated being harassed in their lovely town and how he would never spend another penny there.

Of course, there are plenty of other hotels in Destin and a few in De Funiak Springs. This should help get you started.

We Are Registered At The Following Locations

We are also registered at the Haverty's Furniture location in Tuscaloosa. They do not have a registry set up online like Target or Dillards, but you can ask for Susan Wilson if you stop by the store. With Target or Dillards, you can easily shop online. Gift cards from any three of the locations are fine also. There are links to both sites in the side "link" area on left.
